New 6 Week Beginners Pilates Course
This 6 week course is being hosted by Tanya Ross, lead Therapist and Teacher at TDR Academy of Movement and Therapy. It is suitable for anyone who has an interest in learning the basics of Pilates to begin their journey in learning about the Pilates Method. Even if you have practiced Pilates before, revisiting and retuning the fundamentals will help strengthen your practice by focussing on what makes Pilates truly effective.
Due to Tanya’s extensive training and experience, this class is suitable for anyone and modifications will be incorporated for those with back issues, injuries, medical conditions and for post natal. We strongly advise you get in contact with Tanya to discuss your current health if you have any conditions affecting your health currently to be sure of your suitability for the class. In some cases a 1:1 may be advised before taking part in a class to ensure your movements are screened to help your knowledge and progression with the Pilates Method to discover specific modifications required.
The classes introduce a new fundamental each week, building the movements week by week to help you gain an understanding of the reasons why you should practice Pilates for good physical health and for total body strength and mobility. You will experience the lifestyle effects of the Pilates Method in your posture, your daily movements, through your work and leisure activities. It applies to everything in life and helps you develop your body’s movements physically and mindfully.

Please note - there will be an option to continue after the 6 weeks to develop your Pilates further, so we do not leave you alone after your initial steps. We are here to support you for as long as is needed. Many people stick with it when they feel the benefits and never leave! Pilates is that awesome!
